What’s next for Ohio? Ohio bans hydroxychloroquine in the treatment of COVID-19

From the Ohio Department of Health: On July 30, 2020, Rule 4729: 5-5-21 of the Pharmaceutical Committee of the Administrative Code enters into force. In general, the rule prohibits all terminal distributors (including pharmacists, prescription drugs, out-of-state pharmacies and establishments) from selling or dispensing hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine for the treatment or prevention of COVID-19. Please note that this rule replaces rule 4729-5-30.2 in emergencies and that all permits for the use of these drugs adopted under this rule no longer apply.
