This is the first real black hole picture
After many years of computer reliance, scientists using the Event Horizon telescope captured the first real black hole image. A picture of a supermassive black hole in the Messier galaxy (about 55 million light years) shows that the "shadow", created as a horizon of events, bends and suckles the light.
The image requires the combination of eight existing high-altitude telescopes, including in Chile and Antarctica, to achieve an angle resolution that is sufficient to capture such a relatively compact object (the total "events" total is 24.9 billion kilometers ) at the extreme distance. The Supercomputers of the Max Planck Institute and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Hemispheric Observatory were supposed to combine "petabytes" with unprocessed telescope data.
