Tesla has now officially introduced the Model 3 2021 update with a wider range and all the features we expected.
Over the past week, we’ve announced that Tesla is currently updating the Model 3 with a major update that includes several new features.
We’ve seen the new center console, new wheels and reported a few other features, but now it’s official.
Tesla has now officially updated its online configurator with a new Model 3 2021 update, and, as expected, it contains several more updates under the hood.
In addition to previously reported aesthetic changes, Tesla has also made new efficiency improvements, including a new heat pump system, a source familiar with the issue told Electrek, and it has provided a greater range:
The long-range twin Tesla Model 3 engines increase by 30 miles to 568 km.
Other versions of the car also received an increase in range:
- Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Plus: now 263 miles from 250 miles
- Tesla Model 3 efficiency: now 315 miles from 299 miles
A source familiar with the matter told Electrek that Tesla had equipped the new Model 3 vehicles with a new “efficiency package” that improved Tesla’s already industry-leading efficiency, leading to increased range.
We’ll learn more about improved performance as soon as EPA test results appear.
The new Model 3 also gets all the features we confirmed in previous reports, such as the electric trunk, new double windows and a few aesthetic changes.
As expected, Tesla accepted the removal of chromium, as was done for the Y model.
The interior sees more changes thanks to the new metal trim, which is now apparently heated, and the new center console:
Tesla has completely upgraded the Model 3 wheels with slightly updated 18-inch and 19-inch wheel designs, and they have brought new 20-inch Überturbine Wheels to the sedan:
This 2021 update also returned the auto-dimming mirror to the Model 3.
All versions also get faster accelerations of 0-60 mph – especially, the Model 3 Performance shaved another tenth of a second, and now 3.1 seconds to get to 60 mph.
There are also some minor changes, such as the graphite finish near the seat adjuster, which will require a better look from the car, and we expect that there are many other changes “under the hood” that we are going to learn about how they will deliver the vehicle in the near future. weeks.
Stay with us. New versions of the Model 3 have been out of production in Fremont for the past few weeks, but the first cars were destined for international markets, and now Tesla has begun producing them for the North American market.
