Samsung has announced that the new Galaxy Fit 2 fitness tracker and the new Trio wireless charger are now available for purchase. Earlier, the company announced both products during its virtual Life Unstoppable event in September.
Galaxy Fit 2 is the successor to the Galaxy Fit group released last year. The updated version includes a larger display and improved battery life. Samsung claims that the new model can last up to three weeks at a time, depending on your settings. The Galaxy Fit 2 costs $ 59 and is available in black and red.
The Wireless Charger Trio is a charging panel that costs $ 89 and allows you to power three electronic devices at the same time – a smart watch, headphones and phone, or a smart watch and two phones. It is the successor to the Wireless Charger Duo, which previously could only charge two devices at a time. The design of the Trio wireless charger is an overlay instead of a stand and an overlay, as at the predecessor.
The Trio’s wireless charging panel can also charge the iPhone (iPhone X or later), but its right panel only supports charging for smart Samsung Galaxy watches. It is unclear whether the Trio supports charging AirPods with a wireless charging case, but probably given that its predecessor can charge AirPods and iPhones.
Samsung has also announced that it is adding two additional color options (“mystical red” and “auro-blue”) to its bean-shaped wireless headphones, Galaxy Buds Live. Compared to other models, including the cheaper Galaxy Buds Plus, my colleagues Chris Welch and Becca Farsas said that the Galaxy Buds Live stands out for its unconventional design, long battery life and powerful sound.
Red is now available on the Samsung and Amazon websites. Samsung says that the blue model will be sold exclusively on Best Buy, starting tomorrow, October 17, but it seems that a similar version of the blue color is now available on Amazon.
