Smartphone launch calendar for 2020 should will be done and dusted, but a new report suggests that Samsung may have other ideas. History from the Korean edition MTNciting supply chain sources, claims that Samsung is postponing production of the next flagship Galaxy for six weeks.
This refers to the previous release date, the report even requires December 2020 as an option. The logic of this step seems to be the poor sales of the Samsung S20, and the Korean company seeks to “actively respond to rapidly changing market conditions,” the story explains. SamMobile‘s own sources backup MTN the report on the early release date of January 2021, apparently, is prepared for the launch of the Galaxy S21. Whether it’s December 2020 or January 2021, Samsung’s flagship is likely to arrive earlier than usual.
Google Pixel 5 has just landed, but is it useful? See my review here.
The early launch of the Galaxy S21 is both a wild rumor and quite feasible. I would also like to bet that Samsung will make some drastic changes in pricing to meet the new release date. It would be unusual or even unlikely in any other year, but 2020 is a different beast. The intensification of the battle for your money means that manufacturers have shocked us with unusual steps this year. Apple has released four For the iPhone 12, to reach (almost) every price range, Google has for the first time in recent years retreated from creating a top-level flagship, and Samsung has released an unexpected upper-middle-class phone ahead of Google and Apple releases. Release dates for almost all companies have changed through Covid-19.
The S20 FE is a good example of how aggressive a Korean company can be. Not only did it come out of nowhere, it was also surprisingly cheap due to its performance in the display, camera and processor departments. Samsung is also not ashamed to refuse customers from Apple.
Five years ago, the Korean company briefly held a high-profile campaign that allowed iPhone owners to “test” the new Note 5 and Galaxy S6 for $ 1 for 30 days. Then there’s the company’s generous trading program, which is happy to overpay for the iPhone, including $ 400 for the 2017 iPhone X and $ 350 for the iPhone 8 Plus. The company is currently giving away three months of free Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and a Moga XP5-X Plus controller for all purchases of the Galaxy 2020 5G (a total of free items worth $ 115).
It is easy to argue that the company’s strategy has a hint of despair, which is not surprising given the difficult economic times in which all manufacturers find themselves. So the early release of the Galaxy S21 doesn’t seem too far-fetched.
I suspect that Samsung will appreciate the Galaxy S21 much more affordable than its predecessor. Galaxy S20 landed in the worst economic decline as a result of the hit Covid-19. This attractive price tag on the S20 Plus Ultra at $ 1,399 will not be repeated any time soon, not when almost all competition is lowering prices to stay afloat.
MTN The report also impressively claims that the best Galaxy S21 model will come with the S Pen, c the range of notes stops. In fact, it would streamline the bloated Samsung product library. We’ve heard rumors about the merger of Samsung’s Galaxy S and Note lines, but it makes a lot more sense in the current climate.
The perfect combination of the new Galaxy S, which adds the best of the Note line, is more affordable and comes much earlier than expected – along with all the generous Xbox trading and bundle deals – may well create problems for rivals in a year when competition for your balance of disposable income is particularly hard.
