NASA / Joel Kovsky

This story is part of it Welcome to Mars, our series explores the red planet.

The third mission to Mars two weeks from now, ready to launch from the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida. The newest rover of Mars 2020, persistence, is on the launch pad and ready to go to Mars,, with a helicopter on board, no less! The current weather conditions are extremely favorable for launch, with an 80% chance to get off the field and get into space. Of course, you can watch all this historic start right here. We have the live link above and more information on how to proceed below.

NASA will host live events when a rover-sized car takes off as part of the Atlas V United Launch Alliance (ULA) rocket Atlas V. Pre-coverage begins at 4 o’clock in the morning and the window will open for two hours Fr. 4:50 a.m. PT.

NASA announced on July 22 that the mission passed a flight readiness test, which includes an assessment of the readiness of the spacecraft, rocket, procedures and personnel. “Mars is a tough customer, and we don’t take anything for granted,” said Matt Wallace, Perseverance’s deputy project manager.

The launch will depend on the weather and technical factors. That was before delay from the beginning of the month due to technical problems.

It’s been almost nine years since NASA sent its previous rover, Curiosity, to Mars. Persistence is the most perfect robot that NASA has sent to the surface of Mars. Once located in the crater Jezero – an area with a history of water, the rover will embark on a mission to find signs of ancient microbial life.

The rover does not ride alone. It also carries within itself experimental helicopter called “Engineering” under the abdomen.

NASA’s mission is this one of several descents to Mars within a limited period of possibility this year, when the red planet is in an advantageous position relative to Earth. Skipping this window means waiting for the next chance until 2022. Perseverance can potentially start as early as mid-August, if needed.

The United Arab Emirates is successful On July 19, he sent his Hope probe, and China has launched its own orbit and rover July 22. All three missions are scheduled to reach Mars in February 2021.
