Yes, so technically, the Oscars of 2019 do not have a host. But after the Queen and Adam Lambert opened the show, the trio of America's favorite comedians appeared on the stage to break some jokes about the silent state of the show.
Maya Rudolph, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler went out to present the first night award for the best supporting actress (honor went to Regina King, for If White Street could speak ) they began with a series of jokes about the ceremony , free from the owner
"So just update quickly, if you are confused: today will not be the owner," ̵
"And we will not make rewards during commercials, but we will represent commercials during awards . ] "Pohler continued, so if all the winners could say:" Mayonnaise Hellman: we're on the side of food, "instead of speeches, that would be great."
The crowd inside the Dolby Theater smiled consciously. The preparations for the ceremony this year were extremely chaotic – from the sudden announcement of the Academy (and then recall) category for a popular film in August until the fall of Kevin Hart in December, to a series of plans that were to cut the broadcast, including by distributing some awards during commercial breaks, which led to almost an uprising from Academy membership in the last few weeks. But from the queen's short speech, and then the trio of comedians made for the quick start of the show, in a course that seemed to be designed to appease the audience (as well as distract the viewer's interest). This is the first free Oscars since 1989, but if it starts smoothly, maybe the night goes well.
