A day after the tragic confirmation, Rivera’s lovers commented on their great loss in their first public appearance since the actress’ disappearance.
“We are so grateful for the outpouring of love and prayer for Naya, Jossie and our family over the past week,” said a statement from Rivera’s manager. Deadline, read. “While we mourn the loss of our beautiful legend, we are blessed to honor her eternal heritage and magnetic spirit. Naya was an amazing talent, but she was an even greater person, mother, daughter and sister.”
Her family also recognized the people who helped find her. “I thank the men and women of the San Luis Obispo and Ventura County Sheriff̵7;s Departments, Tulare, and for their unwavering efforts to find Naya,” they continued. “We express our endless gratitude and applause to the heroine who found her. Thank you to her friends, colleagues and fans for their continued support.”
“Heaven has won our defiant angel,” the family concluded. “We ask you to respect our privacy at this very difficult time.”
