Applause – Apple has released a new operating system. You would think with all the fanfare that we just found a way to travel from New York to London in 30 minutes. But Apple has improved marketing, and that includes an annual update that changes the look and feel of our devices.
Initially, these were not all of the Cupertino roses. Bugs and security issues came across the release of iOS 13. Tap or click here to learn more about the fixes you need now for the new Apple operating system.
However, iOS 13 includes a whole lot of changes – over 200 to be exact. Here are 9 that you should definitely check out. By the way, if you liked this content, try my free Apple newsletter and sign up now at Komando.com/Subscribe .
. Keep Your Eyes
One of the most requested features for iOS was adding "Dark Mode". This mode is easier on the eyes for those who make the most of our night view. It's clean, great to look at and will give your vision less load than usual when you use it.
When you install iOS 13, you are asked if you want to use dark mode. Otherwise, to activate the dark mode, open the Settings app select Display and brightness and tap Dark .
If you want your device to switch between dark and light modes automatically, turn on Automatic . This menu has other settings to check, including options such as "Sunset Light" if set to Automatic and "True Tone".
2. A new way to view photos
The Photos application has received a major overhaul. Now, instead of endlessly scrolling through your entire photo archive, iOS 13 integrates machine learning in addition to grouping your photos into collections. You see your best moments every day, month and year.
It's also fun to see real-time photos and videos while scrolling. A feature like Facebook Memories came to Photos. For your year, photos taken around a specific date are sorted and displayed over the years.
Photos automatically ignores recurring photos and screenshots, so all those meme images you save from Facebook don't clutter your albums. If you need to capture any of these, they are still available in full camera capacity.
Finally, if you previously used a separate photo editor to fine-tune your photos, you no longer need to do so. IOS 13 introduces new built-in video and video editing tools and filters.
3. Create Memoji
Why use generic emoji when you can create your own Memoji that reminds you? So, when you ask someone, "What are we doing tonight?", Smiling, your Memoji does the same – complete with head movements and facial expressions. It uses the front camera of your device to create animated Memoji.
You can choose skin color, facial features and hairstyle. Now you can customize her teeth, headgear, makeup and so, face piercing. To get started on your Memoji, touch the Monkey icon in the first row of iMessage.
You can set memory as a photo on Contacts for your iMessage profile. Do this if you want to take the extra step to protect your personality.
The Reminder app has never actually done much compared to the individual programs available in the app store. If you have trouble remembering things, you can make lists, tasks, subtasks, set schedules, set reminders based on time and location, and mark important tasks. You can also see it all on your device or Apple Watch.
The great thing is that you can receive notification of reminders when you exchange messages, and also tag people in specific reminders that relate to them. You can also attach images and video clips to reminders. It is also very convenient that Siri can set them with a voice.
Be sure to set reminders to use your iCloud account so that reminders are updated on all your devices. Open Settings tap [Your Name] iCloud and turn on Reminders . Within the Reminders app, you'll see all your reminders on all your Apple devices that are signed in to the same Apple ID.
5. Here is Robocall Help
This feature may be the best of all, but it is not enabled by default. iOS 13 lets your phone automatically "silence unknown subscribers" and send them directly to voicemail. If the number is found in your Mail, Messages or Contacts application, the call will go through
To activate the function, open the Settings and scroll down to the Phone. Scroll down and turn on Silent Unknown Subscribers .
Do not enable this feature if you are concerned about missing an emergency call. This does not work as Do Not Disturb. The call will not arrive in a few tries. Finally, be sure to review your missed calls from time to time. I missed a few calls from my credit card company, wanting to verify the charge.
6. A faster way to type
Apple has finally caught up with Android using gesture printing. Called QuickPath, the finger-based keyboard works great and turns on by default. When entering text, move your finger from one letter to the next without lifting it. The software handles the rest.
Let's say you wanted to type the word pumpkin. Put your finger on the key "p" and draw the line to "u" and then the line to "m" and so on. When you get used to it, it's very simple and fast.
If this new typing technique is not sailing on your boat, open Settings, select General, select the keyboard and scroll down until you see Move to type and turn it off.
disappearance tabs of iOS 13 will clear after you. Most iPhone owners tend to create a large number of Safari tabs, which usually just stay open. Because of this, it is difficult to find everything you are looking for with all the clutter.
You can get your device to close all these tabs automatically. Open Settings and scroll down to the Safari. Find the section with the text Tabs and tap Close the tabs and select the amount of time you want them to last: manually or one day, one week or one
Speaking of Safari, in the address bar you will find a new icon, shown as two As. Tap this to open the Website Browser menu, where you can set individual settings for each website. You can set controls for each site to access the camera, placement and microphone, and enable Viewer View
The idea behind iOS 13 sign-in to Apple is to create accounts on different apps and sites using your Apple ID. This way, you do not disclose any personal information. Apps and websites are only given a unique number that identifies you. You can specify your email address or use a hidden email address provided to you by Apple, which will automatically send the email to your real email address. . Your Apple account is protected by your biometric information such as Face ID, Touch ID or your password. When you sign in to an app or website that offers it, you'll see a button that says Continue or Sign In via Apple.
Two-factor authentication is required to enable Apple sign-in. Open Settings tap [Your Name] and tap Password and Security . Here you will see the option Enable two-factor authentication . Follow the steps.
iOS 13 has a new subscription service called Apple Arcade. Usually, if you want to try several different games, you will have to pay for each. Apple's new service now gives you access to an entire library of exciting games for $ 4.99 per month.
If you install iOS 13 on your device, you will get one month for free to try it out. Be sure to set a Reminder to cancel it if you do not use it.
