Kanye West applied to vote in New Jersey in the November presidential election, according to government documents.
The 43-year-old rapper collected 1,327 signatures, exceeding the 800 needed by Monday’s deadline for independent presidential candidates.
West similarly filed Monday to appear on the ballot in Missouri, and is trying to do the same in New York. He needs 30,000 signatures in Empire State by Thursday.
The presidential wish, who now resides in Cody, Wyoming, has promised to run for his birthday in his own style, although a paper in New Jersey lists his slogan as “pending.”
West, who has bipolar disorder, announced he was running for president on July 4, followed by a series of alarming posts about his marriage to Kim Kardashian, as well as a hysterical first rally in North Carolina.
Earlier this month, he filed a $ 35,000 fee, which appeared in a November 3 bulletin in Oklahoma and a “Statement of Organization”; document in the Federal Election Commission.
