Astronomers recently, looking deep into outer space on a distant star, saw an orbital fragment of a dead, destroyed planet – one that could be the previous version of the Earth's destiny.

In a new study published Thursday, the researchers said they discovered one of the first small fragments of the planet in orbit around the dead white dwarf star, a discovery that "sheds light on the twilight years of planetary systems." This is stated in the study.

According to Space.com, this newly-built piece of the planet is likely to be part of a world destroyed by deadly torment of the star. A piece "may even be part of the destroyed core of the planet."

That any part of the planet, albeit small, can survive so close to the incredibly strong gravity of the white dwarf, which is wonderful, researchers say.

The orbital frequency around the white dwarf every two hours should be extremely dense and not more than 250 miles in diameter to avoid breaking the gravity forces of the star, according to a study
