Berkshire Hathaway Warren Buffett bets on companies like Apple, Goldman Sachs and American Express in the long run, Oracle of Omaha said in its annual letter to shareholders issued on Saturday.
" What we see in our holdings, rather, it is a collection of companies that we partly own and that, on a balanced basis, earn about 20% on the net. These companies also earn their profits without using excessive debt levels, "Buffett added.
His investment in 2018 did not have a great year ago, a market coup in the fourth quarter, but a long-term investor remains a restless short-term failure. Buffett noted in a letter that Berkshire suffered a loss of $ 20.6 billion "from reducing the number of unrealized gains that existed in our investment holdings."
The total investment in Berkshire was $ 172.75 billion in market value at the end of 2018, compared with $ 170.54 billion by the end of 2017.
