We found the first look at the personal Tesla Model S Elon Musk with a new color prototype, which will probably be possible thanks to the new paint store.
Over the past year, Elon Musk has said that Tesla is building a “state-of-the-art paint shop” at Gigafactory Berlin.
The CEO spoke about the new multi-layer paints:
“Giga Berlin will have the most perfect paint shop in the world, with more layers of stunning colors that are subtly changed by curvature.“
Musk said Tesla is working on a new “deep crimson red”, which is becoming his favorite feature.
Now a special color Tesla Model S has been spotted in the executive parking lot of SpaceX headquarters:
This led people to believe that the Model S was his personal Tesla and that the color could be a new “deep crimson”.
The CEO confirmed that this is a “color prototype” that Tesla is developing for a new paint store.
Gone are the days when Tesla introduced new color options.
On the contrary, in recent years, Tesla has reduced color options to streamline production and simplify service repairs.
We may have to wait a while to see the new colors, although with the Moscow connection they are connected with the gigafactor Berlin, which goes online.
Tesla is currently building the Gigafactory Berlin in Germany, and is expected to be completed by the summer of 2021 to release the Model Y for the first time.
Musk says the new paint and color store will make it for other vehicles, but it could take a while:
It is clear that over time, Fremont and Shanghai will also be upgraded, but it is difficult to convert these improvements into an existing paint store.
As we recently reported, Tesla has built a new paint shop for the Model 3 in Fremont, and plans to reopen the former paint shop as it increases production of the Y model.
Unfortunately, the drawings are in the shadows, and we don’t get much of a look at the color.
From what I see, it’s similar to the “red signature” that Tesla had for the early S models, but it looks a little darker.
Again, this is hard to say because of the shade.
Also, Elon said that color changes with light, so I won’t judge it until we get a better look.
