Die in agony all fans tweeted when the mysterious teaser was surrounded by a sense of the iconic action picture of Bruce Willis. His daughter Rumer Willis wrote on her Twitter, as did Devoro White, who played the driver of a limousine Argyle from the 1988 film. It turns out that all the excitement was about another Die Hard – a brand of car batteries.
A two-minute commercial in the spirit of the film took us on a journey with the legendary Willis hero John McClain, when he is going to buy a new DieHard battery in the Advance Auto Parts store after his car died.
The original film nods, including John’s clever demeanor, his escape through the vent, and the cameos from the Whites like Argyll and Clarence Gillard Jr. Die in agony Buddy Theo.
There are many moments of action, including the signature Die in agony fiction and explosions worthy of blockbusters, and at the very end Argyle says “Hippie ki yay,”; and McClain says, “Hey, that’s my line!” See what they did there?
