Blizzard has found that they expect the new hero to Overwatch the Baptist to be the opposite of the infamous composition of GOATS.
Baptiste is a hero who joined the Overwatch registry. Former medical trainer "Talon," he supports the character of a mechanic, more typical of the DPS, with a rifle exploding, alternating as a grenade launcher for weapons.
His kit comes with several completely new mechanics. likes his field of immortality and the ultimate ability of the amplification matrix, which acts unlike everything else already in the game. On February 26, the Baptist entered the Public Test Realm (PTR), which means that players on the PC can try it right now.
This is indicative of the disappointment of many steel players with the current overwatch, but, despite the excitement of a new hero, the first issue for many is how Baptiste is going to interact with the much more downtrodden GOATS.
GOATS has been dominant for several months.
GOATS is a triple tank with three reservoirs, named after the Contenders team, which popularized it and was at the forefront of the competition goal for several months. During this time, he faced with a lot of criticism, both because of the lack of diversity, and because the composition itself, which does not have typical DPS characters, is least interesting for playback and viewing.
from InvenGlobal, chief designer of Overwatch Jeff Goodman was asked about the possibility that, given that the Baptiste kit seems to reward teams that remain bundled, its complement will further consolidate the GOATS goal.
Goodman, however, Blizzard's tests with Baptiste seemed to suggest the exact opposite.
"We conducted many internal tests on it. We also thought a lot about how he could work as a GOATS, and it turned out that Baptiste was not as strong as some thought he might be in that lineup; when using it ult, which is the biggest advantage of using Baptiste, seemed rather uncertain. In truth, the Baptist seemed to be more opposed to COX. "
Is this really true in the wider game, to be seen, since no internal testing can explain the creativity of a million-player base of players, and at the professional level, pure discrepancy of skill with respect to even the best amateur players makes it very difficult to judge how all will happen until the experts really get hands on the new hero.
However, comments on the Baptist with the tension of other balance changes that hit the PTR next to him can give players the hope that the KOZ government may finally come to an end.
