Beyoncé’s new visual album, Black is king, arrived on Friday (July 31).
Bay first announced the news with an unexpected one-minute trailer for the visual album – which was also described as a film – on its website in June, giving fans a first look at the Lion King-inspired issue.
Written, directed and performed by Beyonce, Black is the king premiered worldwide via Disney + about a year after its theatrical release the Lion King a remake voiced by Nala in.
Black is the king based on music from the Bay-2019 soundtrack to the animated film, The Lion King: a gift. Children’s Gambino, Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell, Jay-Z and Blue Ivy Carter performed like children on the set.
The issue promised that the visual album would cover “the travels of the Black families throughout time”; and tell the story of the young king’s transcendent journey through betrayal, love and self-identification. Black is the king it is a confirmation of a grand goal, with lush visuals that mark black resilience and culture. “
