At the Easter service at St. Peter's Cathedral, Pope Francis on Saturday urged people to resist cynicism or to pursue the "brilliance of wealth," and also to avoid looking for meaning in life in "passing things"
Francis exclaimed, noting that when everything goes bad, "we lose heart and believe that death is stronger in life."
"We become cynical, negative and frustrated," added Francis.

The Vatican said that these new faithful – from Italy, Albania, Ecuador, Indonesia and Peru. From a mint-shaped silver dish, Francis poured holy water over the heads of three men and women, after they came to him, one by one, and listened to how he called their names.
