A new Chrome cache will increase the click speed of the "Back" button.

This will not allow faster visits to new websites, but Google claims that such backward and forward navigation is fairly common, accounting for 19% of the pages viewed in Chrome for Android and 10% for Chrome on a PC.

This sounds like a fairly simple feature, but there are problems associated with getting it. Confidentiality, for example, as bfcache, should ensure that JavaScript does not work on pages that do not really exist. Although this feature may be useful for battery life, since the paused page is less intense to restart than its rebuild, it is likely to be quite intense in the memory process, which is traditionally a problem for Chrome.

Google wants to build it in Chrome in 2020, following tests this year. Safari and Firefox use a similar type of caching for many years ̵

1; Safari since 2002, and Firefox since 2005 – so Chrome is playing now. But, given the growing focus on confidentiality and technical productivity, it clearly wants to make sure it gets this right.
